How does the Bundle Price Discounts option work?

Offering discounts for bulk purchases is a powerful way to increase your average order value on the marketplace. This article explains how the bundle pricing feature works and how to set it up.

Introduction

The Bundle Price Discount feature allows you to offer lower per-unit prices to customers who purchase multiple quantities of the same product. In the bol.com plugin, you can configure up to three distinct discount tiers (e.g., "Buy 2, get 5% off" or "Buy 4, get 10% off"). This is synchronized directly with the bol.com "Volumekorting" system.

How Bundle Pricing Works

You can specify the minimum quantity required and the percentage discount applied for each tier:

Tier

Minimum Quantity

Price Discount (%)

Bundle #1

2

5%

Bundle #2

4

10%

Bundle #3

6

15%

Option 1: Global Configuration (General Settings)

Use this method if you want to apply the same volume discount strategy to your entire catalog.

  1. Navigate to the bol.com plugin settings in your WordPress dashboard.

  2. Click on the Authorization tab.

  3. Toggle the option Discount on bundle prices to enabled.

  4. Enter your desired Quantity and Discount (%) for up to three tiers.

  5. Click Save Changes

From this point forward, any product you Publish or Update will include these global bundle settings.

Option 2: Product-Level Configuration

If you only want to offer volume discounts on specific items—or if a specific product needs a different discount structure—you can configure it individually.

  1. Navigate to the WooCommerce Products page and Edit your chosen product.

  2. Scroll down to the Product Data box and click the bol.com tab.

  3. Locate and check the box for Manage bundle prices.

  4. Enter the specific quantities and discount percentages for this product.

  5. Click Update to save and sync the changes.

Important Considerations

  • Sync Constraints: If you have enabled the "Do not sync prices" option in your general settings, your bundle changes will not be pushed automatically.

  • Manual Refresh: To push new bundle prices for existing products, use the Bulk Action: Bol Publish/Update on the WooCommerce product overview page.

  • API Validation: Bol.com requires that the discounted price per unit is always lower than the single-unit price. Ensure your percentages are calculated correctly to avoid sync errors.
