When publishing listings to eBay, your product titles must adhere to strict platform constraints. If a title exceeds or falls short of the required character limit, eBay's inventory API will reject the listing.

This error occurs when the title of the product you are attempting to publish to eBay contains either zero characters or more than the maximum 80-character limit enforced by eBay.

How to resolve the title length error

To fix this issue, you need to adjust your product title in WooCommerce so that its total character count falls within the valid range (1 to 80 characters):

  1. Log into your WordPress backend and go to Products.

  2. Click on the affected product to open the product edit page.

  3. Check the main Product Title field at the top of the page.

  4. Ensure the title length is between 1 and 80 characters long (including spaces and punctuation).

  5. Click the Update button on the right side to save your changes.

Republishing your product

Once you have adjusted the title length, you can re-submit your product to eBay:

  1. Return to your WooCommerce Products overview.

  2. Select the checkbox next to the updated product(s).

  3. Click on the Bulk Actions dropdown menu at the top of the table.

  4. Select Ebay: Publish/Update.

  5. Click Apply.

The error will be resolved, and your product will be published to eBay!
