Do you already have your WooCommerce categories and would like to keep using them? We've got you covered, introducing the Category Mapping functionality. With this function, you can connect your WooCommerce categories to the supplier's categories (in this case Van der Meer).

You can do this by following these steps:

  1. Log into your WordPress backend

  2. Go to the Van der Meer plugin settings

  3. Click on the Category Mapping tab

  4. On the left side, choose your Van der Meer category by clicking on Please select.

  5. The list of available categories will be displayed, we've got main categories and subcategories.

  6. Click on the category name to look for the subcategories, when satisfied click on Select.

  7. On the right side, choose your WooCommerce category by clicking on Please select and follow the same steps as before.

  8. Finally, click on Connect.

The Van der Meer category is now connected successfully!

Important: it's important to note that only the leaf of the category path is mapped. So for example if you have the following mapping:

Van der Meer category: Parent Category > Sub Category 1 > Sub Category 2

to

WooCommerce category: Parent Category > Sub Category 1

In this example, Van der Meer Sub Category 2 is mapped to WooCommerce Sub Category 1. Meaning that the entire parent categories from Van der Meer are still imported.

If you don't want that, you have to still map Van der Meer Sub Category 1 & Parent Category to WooCommerce Sub Category 2.
