How quickly do payments become available for payout?

Understanding when your funds are available for payout is crucial for managing your business cash flow. This article explains the timeline and the reasoning behind the holding period.

Introduction

With the Woosa Payments service, all processed transactions are held securely in your account for a short period before they can be transferred to your bank account. This buffer ensures that there are sufficient funds available to cover potential financial adjustments, such as customer refunds, without creating a negative balance.

When will my money be available?

Regardless of the payment method used by your customer (iDEAL, Credit Card, Bancontact, etc.), the processing timeline remains consistent:

  • Processing Period: 2 working days.

  • Availability: After these 2 working days, the funds move from "Pending" to "Available" for payout.

  • Payout: Once available, the funds will be included in your next scheduled payout to your linked bank account.

Why is there a two-day holding period?

You might wonder why funds aren't available the instant a customer completes a checkout. We maintain this 2-day window for the following security and administrative reasons:

  • Chargebacks: To protect against fraudulent transactions or disputed payments from credit card providers.

  • Refunds: To ensure that if a customer requests a refund shortly after purchase, the funds are immediately available to be returned from the original transaction.

  • Order Cancellations: To allow for the processing of cancellations that occur immediately after an order is placed, ensuring the financial settlement matches the physical order status.

Monitoring your Balance

You can track the status of your funds directly within your dashboard:

  1. Log in to the Woosa Payment portal.

  2. Navigate to the Dashboard.

  3. In Reports you will see a breakdown of Pending Funds (still within the 2-day window) and Available Funds (ready for payout).

Note: "Working days" do not include Saturdays, Sundays, or public holidays. Payments received on a Friday will typically become available on the following Tuesday.
