Authorize your Adyen test account

To authorize your Adyen test account, you'll first need to login here. Then follow these steps:

  1. Once logged in your Adyen account, click on the top left corner on your Merchant account to select the correct account to authorize

  2. Go to Developers -> API credentials

  3. On the top right corner, click on Create new credential

  4. A pop-up will show Create API credential, choose for Web service user

  5. The username is automatically generated, you can fill in any Description of your choosing (for example: Woosa Adyen) to make it easier to identify

  6. Click on Create credential

  7. Under Server settings > API key there's already an API key generated for you automatically. Please copy and paste this key in a document on your computer or cloud, because once this API key is created, most of it will be blurred out afterwards

  8. Below click on Save changes

Authorize the Adyen plugin in your WordPress backend

Using the API credentials created above, we will now use these credentials to authorize the Adyen plugin in your WordPress backend. Follow these steps:

  1. Once logged in your WordPress backend, go to WooCommerce -> Settings

  2. Then Adyen -> Authorization

  3. After that fill in the following:

    1. Test mode = Yes

    2. Merchant Account (TEST)

    3. API key (TEST) (You saved this API key in a document on your computer or cloud, in the previous steps)

  4. Finally click on Click to authorize

Authorize your Adyen live account

To authorize the live account it's prettty much the same as your test account. Repeat the steps from Authorize your Adyen test account, but this time login to your Adyen live account here.

The only difference with the live account is that now you also need your URL-prefix (LIVE). Please read this article to find out how to create this.
