Introduction
The Woosa bol.com plugin allows you to define exactly where the software should look for your product's EAN code. By setting a global "EAN Source," you can automate the synchronization process for your entire catalog. If certain products deviate from your standard setup, you can also override these settings at the individual product level.
Available EAN Sources
In the general settings, you can choose from the following locations to retrieve your codes:
Default: Uses the internal EAN field provided by the Woosa plugin.
Product Custom Field: Pulls data from a specific metadata field (useful if you use third-party SEO or inventory plugins).
Product SKU: Uses your WooCommerce SKU as the EAN (only recommended if your SKUs are valid 13-digit EANs).
Product Attribute: Retrieves the code from a specific WooCommerce attribute (e.g., an attribute named "EAN").
How to set the Global EAN Source
Follow these steps to configure the primary source for your EAN codes:
Log in to your WordPress backend and navigate to the bol.com plugin settings.
Click on the Synchronization tab.
Under the Products section, locate the EAN Source dropdown menu.
Select your preferred source from the list.
Click Save Changes to apply the configuration.
How to set a Unique EAN at Product Level
If a specific product stores its EAN in a different location than your global setting, you can manually override it:
Navigate to the WooCommerce Products page.
Edit the product that requires a unique EAN.
Scroll down to the Product Data meta-box and click the bol.com tab.
Check the box labeled Manage EAN?.
Enter the correct EAN code in the provided field.
Click Update to save your changes.
Important: If you find the EAN field is locked or uneditable, the product may already be "Published" to bol.com. To change the EAN for an active listing, you must first unpublish it using the Bol: Delete Bulk Action, update the code, and then republish.
