One of the first steps in setting up the Kaufland WooCommerce plugin, is authorizing your Kaufland account with WooCommerce. However, during this process you can experience errors. We have stated them below including the solution.

Granting authorization has failed, please check the logs.

You are using the wrong Kaufland client key and client secret to authorize

Check-in in your Kaufland seller account, what your correct client key and client secret are, and try again. You can read here where to find this information.

{"message":"Parameter [item] is missing or has wrong value","errors":[{"field":"item","message":"Field item is missing or has wrong value"}]}

This means the product is not existing on Kaufland.de yet.

Should be created manually for now

Unit not found

The product/EAN code is not existing yet on Kaufland.

To make sure the product/EAN code will be sold on Kaufland, you will need to add the product with all its content yourself. At this moment our Kaufland WooCommerce plugin doesn’t support this feature yet. For this reason, we advise you to follow the following steps:

  1. Log in to your Kaufland seller account

  2. Go to Offers Management > Offers in the left menu

  3. Click the button right above New offer

  4. Follow the steps in the Kaufland seller account to add the product

After the product is published on Kaufland, you can connect the WooCommerce product with the Kaufland product by publishing the product from WooCommerce again via bulk actions.

{"message":"Product not found","errors":[]}

This means the product's EAN doesn't exist in Kaufland's catalog yet. Before you can publish an offer (price/stock) from WooCommerce, the product itself must first exist in Kaufland's product database.

Here's what to check:

  • The EAN on the WooCommerce product is correct — it must match exactly what Kaufland has in their catalog

  • The product is already in Kaufland's catalog — if it's not, the product content needs to be submitted/uploaded to Kaufland first before you can create an offer on it

  • The correct storefront is selected in the plugin settings (e.g. .de, .sk, etc.) — the product must exist in that specific Kaufland country store

The internal reference is required and cannot be empty

The internal reference field is empty

In the Kaufland plugin settings, check the Internal reference source option and choose a field. For example: the easiest one you can choose is Product ID.
