What does the Synchronize Products option mean?

Our bol.com plugin requires the correct synchronization settings to keep your products, stock, and prices up to date. Once enabled, this option automates the connection between WooCommerce and bol.com.

Introduction

In this article, we explain what the Synchronize Products option means and exactly what it does. In the bol.com plugin settings, under the Synchronization tab, you will find this option. By enabling it, you allow the plugin to automatically update your published products from WooCommerce to bol.com whenever they are created, updated, trashed, or deleted.

What is updated for each product action?

When the Synchronize Products option is active, actions taken in your WooCommerce dashboard directly affect your listings on bol.com.

The table below shows the exact effect for each product action:

Action in WooCommerce

Effect on Bol.com

Product is created

Product is automatically published to bol.com.

Product is updated

Product price and stock are automatically updated to bol.com.

Product is placed in trash

Product is paused on bol.com (provided the Pause offers for discarded products option is enabled).

Product is removed permanently

Product is completely removed from bol.com.

How do I customize the synchronization settings?

If you have enabled the Synchronize Products option, you still maintain full control over your workflow. You can choose to restrict certain automatic actions by using the following additional settings:

  • Do not synchronize new products: Enable this option if you want to create new products in WooCommerce without automatically publishing them to bol.com right away.

  • Prices not synchronizing: Enable this option if you prefer to manage your bol.com pricing manually and want to prevent WooCommerce from overwriting them.
