Are bol.com orders processed automatically in WooCommerce?

Managing your bol.com orders in WooCommerce can be fully automated or handled manually depending on your fulfillment workflow. Adjusting these settings ensures shipping and tracking information is sent seamlessly to bol.com.

Introduction

In this article, we will explain how bol.com orders are processed within WooCommerce. By default, automatic processing is disabled, allowing you to choose whether you prefer the plugin to handle order registration automatically or if you want to manage it manually.

How to enable automated order processing

If you use Track & Trace codes and want your orders to be processed and completed automatically, you need to configure your shipping settings. Follow these steps to set up automation:

  1. In your WordPress backend, navigate to Bol > Synchronization > Shipping.

  2. Check the box to enable the setting Use my shipping carrier.

  3. Once enabled, additional configuration options will appear. Specify the following details:

    • Shipping carrier: Fill in the exact name of the shipping carrier you use (e.g., PostNL, DHL).

    • Tracking code source: Specify the field from which the plugin should retrieve your tracking code.

    • Register order shipment: Choose the exact trigger for when the order status should be updated on bol.com.

โš ๏ธ Important: The order status on bol.com will only update automatically if you enable the automated options within the Register Order Shipment settings. If these are not configured, you will still need to process the orders manually.

How to process orders manually

If you prefer to review and handle your shipments manually, you can do so directly from your WooCommerce dashboard. Follow these steps:

  1. Go to WooCommerce > Orders.

  2. Click on the desired bol.com order to open the edit page.

  3. In the order edit menu, click on the Process Order button.

  4. Select the specific products/items that you are ready to process.

  5. Click on Check delivery options.

  6. Choose your preferred carrier (or select the option to use your own carrier).

  7. Lastly, click on Register shipment.

Note: After clicking register, the order status will first change to Processing. After a few minutes, the background actions will complete, and it will automatically switch to Registered.
