Introduction

While most WordPress plugins can be installed directly through the dashboard, sometimes server restrictions or file size limits require a manual installation via FTP (File Transfer Protocol). This method is reliable and ensures that all plugin files are correctly placed on your server.

Preparation

Before you start the installation, you need to prepare the plugin file:

  1. Download the plugin: Download the ZIP file from your Woosa account.

  2. Unzip the file: The plugin must be unzipped before uploading.

    • MacOS: Double-click the ZIP file to extract it automatically.

    • Windows: Right-click and select "Extract All" or use a program like WinRAR.

    • Result: You should now have a folder named after the plugin (e.g., woosa-bol-com).

Installation Steps

  1. Connect to FTP: Login to your FTP server using a client like FileZilla.

  2. Navigate to the plugins folder: Go to the directory /wp-content/plugins/.

  3. Upload the folder: Drag the unzipped plugin folder from your computer into the plugins folder on your FTP server.

  4. Wait for completion: Ensure all files are fully uploaded before closing the connection.

  5. Activate the plugin: Log in to your WordPress dashboard, go to Plugins, find the newly uploaded plugin, and click Activate.
